This might come as a surprise to many, but the majority of TFT (Thin Film Transistor) displays are manufactured in China. So, when China has a holiday or other shut down, your production line suffers.

Many times, the delay is longer than the period of time the factories were closed. This is especially true with the dreaded Chinese New Year. They are shut-down for two weeks, but delays can last more than a month due to the slow return of workers and all the backlog they need to work through.

Another delay for US/Canada based manufacturing will take place in September for the BRICS conference. This shut down is from 1 September to 6 September.

So, what is the solution? Pull money out of the bank and invest it in LCD inventory. It makes no sense to have your cash in the bank earning .01% interest when you can invest it for future production.
